Membership organizations of NWSGP traveled long distances to meet for several days on August 4 and 5, 2015 for a business meeting and training on the Fort Peck reservation in Montana, home to host Fort Peck Tribe Family Violence Prevention Center. Linda Thompson of the First Nations Women’s Alliance presented to the group on practicing the call to compassion, an excellent view into the heart of an advocate. Training topics included traditional plants for healing and uses, practicing a call to compassion, basic skills for facilitating support groups, photography for evidence and updates on the meaning of advocacy.  The meetings were held in the newly built office building for the Prevention Center. The building was dedicated pattyPatty McGeshick, she left a lasting legacy at Fort Peck Tribe, with her many years of work in violence against women and children.
