The Crow Creek Tribe will be offering community wide domestic violence training the entire week of July 20 to 24, 2026 from 9 am to 4 pm, each day, at the EPA building in Fort Thompson.  Join us for community sessions focused on understanding and addressing domestic violence within Native communities.

These sessions will include the overarching goal of providing trauma informed, culturally-based background and perspective of the dynamics and impact of domestic violence and battering experienced by Native women and their children, along with an overview of the role of the community and advocates. We need to know how we got to where we are today to respond effectively and proactively create initiatives that end violence.

Reviewing the goal that aims to inspire critical thinking about violence and ways to make non- violent relationships and communities. Other topics include basic community advocacy skills, jurisdictional issues, responding to crisis, shelter information, working outside the shelter, community coordinated responses, sex trafficking and public awareness.
