Membership of Native Women’s Society of the Great Plains met in early December at Fort Yates, ND to discuss needs of the programs, future trainings and to share membership program updates. Due to the weather conditions the meeting ended early to get people home safely.

NWSGP Board members includes 25 organizations on the great plains.

Not all membership was able to attend but online meeting options were available for those wanting to attend. In January, NWSGP will be organizing and recording the first 20 hours of the Native-oriented domestic violence advocacy training. The second 20 hours of the 40 hour advocacy training will be delivered in-person at later dates. The curriculum was updated so new recordings will be done. Advocates should be able to start the online 20-hour training in February and is geared for their own pace setting within a 21 day period.
