NWSGP offers Part I of the Domestic Violence Advocacy

Native Women's Society of the Great Plains will be offering in person Part I of the (first 20 hours) 40 Hour Domestic Violence Advocacy training ‘Violence Against Native Women – History & Impact – Advocacy’ on April 28, 29 & 30, 2026, at LaQuinta Inn & Suites in Rapid City. Participation is limited to room available and first come basis to NWSGP membership programs. Part II of the domestic violence advocacy training will be held at a later date and will be announced. Part I covers the history and impact of violence against Native women and Part II reviews advocacy skills. Training will start on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 8 am and end on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at noon. Agenda includes dynamics and social impact, dynamic and impacts of battering, advocates role and trauma informed approaches with advocacy and the intersection of sex trafficking. Reimbursement available to NWSGP membership programs.
