For Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Southwest Indigenous Women’s Coalition and Lenny Hayes, will be hosting a webinar ‘Transforming a Trauma Memory into Healing: A Cultural Perspective,’ on April 15 at 12 pm MST.

Trauma is a complex and often bewildering experience that can affect individuals in a

myriad of ways. Its impact can be deeply ingrained, surfacing long after the initial

incident has passed, leading to what we commonly call a trauma memory. These

memories can emerge unexpectedly, bringing a range of emotions or physical

responses and reminding one of the original pains, even when one believes they have

done tremendous healing.
